My dream as a child was to be either a marathon runner or Olympic gymnast. When I was old enough to make my own decisions, at age 16, I joined a gym to have abs. I told my trainer at that time that I wanted to be the strongest girl in the gym and be a bodybuilder! Today I am the strongest girl in most gyms, but enjoy being known as a diva-fitness model a lot better. I realized that I can be an amazing athlete and still be very feminine.
I was nicknamed by the owner of the gym ''little Arnold'' when I started training. I start competing at age 22 to challenge myself and to see what condition I could bring my body to. Ever since, I fell in love being an athlete, dieting, training hard, and always challenging my body!
After seven contests in four years, I won the Figure Model category at the Summer '09 SAF Model Search. This gave me a lot of confidence on both levels as an athelete and as a young ethnic woman in this industry. I know now that dreams do come true if you keep on going even when there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel!
I encourage every athelete, fitness enthusiat and woman who wants to lose weight and in get in better shape to keep going for your dreams. Dreams do come true! Fight for it, own it, it is yours! P.S. I was blessed to have had the best trainers, coaches, mentors, teachers, in my training life including Mindi O'Brien, whom I work with at present, and last but not least, Doug Schneider for believing in me. I want to also thank my family, my boyfriend Steve, and my friends for all their support.
